Tour des Dents Du Midi
Switzerland Multi-Day Trek
We have a few places available on our hiking tour of the Dents du Midi (Tour des Dents du Midi) in the beautiful alps of the French-speaking Swiss Valais. This is a popular and beautiful trek with us – and the bonus is that it’s not yet widely known on the “trekking circuit” in the Alps, hence you never feel you are on an alpine motorway.
This 4 day walk includes an optional trekking summit called the Haute Cime (3257m), which is one of the “Teeth” of the Dents du Midi (“Dents” is the French word for “teeth”). It is a steep uphill on scree to the summit, which is suitable for experienced hikers but does not require technical climbing abilities.
Early July is a time to find plenty of beautiful alpine wildflowers blooming in the green rolling Swiss hills.
The Cabane de Susanfe at 2102m is a beautiful refuge tucked into the Vallon de Susanfe and is surrounded by beautiful peaks. Ibex and other wildlife often come out to play in the evenings.
The walk from Susanfe to Chindonne though a long day is chock full of eye-popping mountain vistas.
The start and ending town of Mex is a beautiful little village at just over 1000m which has B&B accommodations for those who wish to arrive the day before.
If you are interested in this trip, please contact us for further information. This trip is suitable for keen hill walkers with good fitness. Families with children have done some of the days. This trip can be cut into smaller pieces if you do not have time to do the whole trek, thanks to good access to Swiss transport at several points.
