Hike from Refugio Bezzi to Becca della Traversiere, a set on Flickr.
We hiked to the top of the Becca della Traversiere last week. This is a trekking peak which tops out at 3337m and is located in the beautiful Italian Alps near the French border.
We left the comfort of the rifugio Bezzi hut in the morning and reached the summit in a few hours. We then headed down for a well-deserved and delicious hot lunch back at the Bezzi before walking back out to the village of Surier in the Valgrisenche.
This is an outing suitable for most keen hikers – it has just over 1000m of height gain, but plenty of creature comforts (hot showers, delicious food, friendly staff, nice beds) at the mountain refuge will keep you going.
This area has several other hiking peaks to explore in future trips ! Contact us for details on our website at http://www.alpsadventures.com .
The current year hiking season is over with the closures of mountain huts this past weekend, and will start again in mid-June 2012 when the mountain huts start to re-open for the season (depending upon snowfall).
